I really don't see any benefit of not using smb, no transcoding no resources used on your pc and you get all subtitles formats (SRT, ASS, SSA, SUB, SMI) and all video formats without sacrificing anything, like a 3 audio channel mkv for instance. By the way why are people using serviio with the live anyways? It reads files directly through smb shares so a dlna media server is not needed! I believe mac and ubuntu have smb sharing so no excuses there. When playing mp4 or mkv with external srt they are not showing. Just seeing the devices in the list means you can play TO them not FROM them.īack on topic, just installed the serviio addin 0.6.2 on my whs 2011 and the srt subtitles only work for divx/xvid movies. If you really really want to user serviio you should be adding the shared folders under your serviio library from the WD live tv hub, they should be visible if the live is sharing them. I do not know if its better than serviio but should be a good solution. You don´t need to use serviio to stream from the live since it has its own built in server. I believe the easier solution for you is to turn on the WD live TV HUB dlna media server in the options and should be available through skifta. We also are using in our Tablet and phone Skifta, but when we select Serviio from Source, we only can see Mac Mini local folders, how we can access to WD Live media files and also play with subtitles (set) ? We also add some local Mac Mini folder where we have some media. We want to use serviio to stream movies from our WD Live TV Hub to a Samsung Galaxy TAB with RockPlayer Lite and play with subtitles, we have configured Serviio Server in a Mac Mini, and in Render Profile we can see the WD Live TV, with General DLNA profile. It will fully restart the app, and it has helped me a few times when my library wasn’t showing up at all, a certain movie wouldn’t show itself in the list or a subtitle woudln’t load.I have installed Serviio on my Mac Mini, we have a wifi network, with a Mac Mini, Some Samsung Tablets and Galaxy SII, also a LG Bluray Home Teather and a WD Live TV Hub where we store all our movies, music and pictures. The last resort to fixing issues in your movie library?įinally, in some rare occasions, it can also help to force-close LG’s ‘Photos and videos’ app by pressing the ‘back’ key for a few seconds on you magic remote. The NAS indexing service and the ‘Photos and Video’ app on your LG TV will pick up the new file almost instantaneously. Now move it back to your movie’s directory on your NAS.Physically move the subtitle.srt file away from the NAS, to your PC’s desktop or any other storage. The media indexing service of your DLNA device, NAS or WebOS (not sure which one of the 2 is the culprit) can sometimes take minutes, hours, even days to register this name change, still ruining your movie night. So imagine you have my.4 and subtitle.srt. It can temporarily result in an empty looking movie library! Renaming your subtitle from en.srt to won’t work immediately, here’s how to bypass this delay So you could check if there’s some unnecessary ‘swag’ in your paths… Warning: This process of re-indexing can take a LONG time (over 24h). After changing the names to 0 Kids and 0 Favorites, and then doing a full ‘re-index’ of my movies directory in the NAS’s ‘Media Indexing’ tool, they all worked again. I noticed none of my SRT subtitles would load in any movie stored in these directories. I had 2 subdirectories in my movies directory, 0.Kids and 0.Favorites (to force them on top of the list). Perhaps the path to your movies directory is too complex Both of them are related to the absolute path of the movie and the subtitle file. SRT the exact same as your movie file?īesides these basics, there are other things that can cause this issue. SRT file placed in the exact same directory as your movie file? SRT subtitles are there, but I can’t load them…Īssuming there’s no issue with the subtitle file, you should first do these basic checks: srt files which is guaranteed to save you a headache. No worries though! I have an easy and free tool to extract and save embedded MKV subtitles as. so unless that exact track is the language you needed, you often won’t be able to load a different subtitle. It can -in many cases- only read the first embedded MKV subtitle track. To troubleshoot this, there are a few things I discovered about the LG WebOS Photo & Video App: MKV subtitles on LG WEBOS not working? Even though you have an SRT file in the same directory as the movie file or many subtitles are embedded in your MKV File. If you use a DLNA or UPnP Media Server to stream videos from your (e.g.) Synology NAS to your LG C9 or CX OLED TV, you may experience subtitles not always loading properly. The annoying problem is with subtitles: watching movies using dlna I every time in the TV player have to go to settings ('cog' icon) choose 'subtitles' menu and turn them off.
